Gastrointestinal Discomfort

Rocky, who works as a warehouse clerk, has been constipated for a long time, but soon he has diarrhea and sometimes feels a burning in his chest at work.

He has been to a Western medical practitioner but has only received temporary relief. Rocky was diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome and acid reflux by the western medicine doctor of Health Integrated and was tested for Helicobacter pylori, which was confirmed to be negative.

He was later referred to a Chinese medicine practitioner, who found that he was suffering from a deficiency in his middle energy and a loss of harmony in his stomach. After two weeks of oral herbal medicine to balance the yin and yang of the spleen and stomach, Rocky was relieved of his "burning heart" and stomach discomfort. Finally, he was advised to meet with a nutritionist to adjust his daily diet to achieve the best long-term results.
